What Is An Illinois Lottery Online Account?

An Illinois Lottery online account allows a player to purchase subscriptions to certain Lottery games. With an Illinois Lottery online account, players can view their history of purchases and wins, have winnings of up to $600 deposited into their account for immediate access, get email notification of wins and manage personal spending limits. You can purchase subscriptions for Powerball, Mega Millions, Lotto, Lucky Day Lotto, Pick 3 and Pick 4.

Who Can Make Illinois Lottery Purchases Online?

Anyone over 18 years of age and a resident of Illinois can make online purchases of select Illinois Lottery games. Employees of the Illinois Lottery, the Lottery Control Board, officers and employees of Northstar Lottery Group, LLC and its affiliates including Scientific Games International, Inc. and IGT Global Solutions Corporation; officers and employees of Northstar Lottery Group's advertising, public relations, and sales promotion agencies assigned to the Illinois Lottery account; officers and employees of audit firms performing for the Illinois Lottery; certain other contractors of the Illinois Lottery or Northstar Lottery Group, LLC; and other agents and families living in the same household of each are not eligible to make Illinois Lottery purchases.

Can I Still Purchase Tickets For a Single Mega Millions, Powerball or Lotto  Drawing?

Yes. Mega Millions, Powerball and Lotto Players can now purchase customized subscriptions for 1 to 25 consecutive drawings or purchase one of the preset subscription lengths.

Which Games Can I Purchase On The Internet?

At this time, you can make online purchases of subscriptions for Powerball, Mega Millions, Lotto, Lucky Day Lotto, Pick 3 and Pick 4.

How Do I Know If I Won?

We'll let you know by email. Check the "My Info" section on your account profile and make sure your current email address is listed.

How Do I Claim My Prize?

Winnings of $600 or less are automatically deposited into your account. Winnings over $600 will be processed by the Illinois Lottery Claims Department. You'll receive an email to notify you how to complete the claim process.

How Can I Check My Account Balance?

Check your balance any time by logging in to your account at www.illinoislottery.com.

How Do I Fund My Online Lottery Purchases?

Your purchases can be made by credit or debit card (Visa®, Mastercard® or Discover®). You can store your credit/debit card information for later or you can provide it each time you play. If you are a Chase Visa cardholder there is a possibility that your credit or debit card may not be accepted for Illinois Lottery purchases - Please contact Chase for more information. You may select an alternate credit or debit card to complete your purchase.

Can I Fund Purchases Directly From My Bank Account?

No. You can only fund purchases with either a credit card or debit card, or with the balance in your account.

How Can I Withdraw Funds From My Online Account?

If you have funds in your account, you can have these funds directly deposited into your checking or savings account or you can request a check.

What Are Subscriptions?

Subscriptions allow you to set up one or more Illinois Lottery purchases automatically for a set number of draws for a game. You can use your own numbers or choose the Quick Pick option.

What Illinois Lottery Games Are Available For Subscription?

You can purchase subscriptions for PowerballMega MillionsLottoLucky Day LottoPick 3 and Pick 4 .

Is There A Set Time Period For Subscriptions?

There are preset 13 week, 26 week and 52 week subscription length options available, with the option to renew for Powerball (13 week subscription only), Mega Millions, Lotto and Lucky Day Lotto. Lucky Day Lotto also offers subscriptions from 1 week to 12 weeks. Pick 3 and Pick 4 offer subscriptions between 1 and 13 weeks. In addition, Mega Millions, Powerball and Lotto Players can now purchase customized subscriptions for 1 to 25 consecutive drawings or purchase one of the preset subscription lengths.

How Do I Choose My Numbers?

You can pick your own numbers or choose the Quick Pick option if you want the system to randomly generate and select numbers for you.

Is There A Minimum Purchase?

Yes. Minimum online purchase is $5.

Is The Ticket Cost For Subscriptions The Same As Playing An Individual Game?

Yes, if you purchase a subscription between 1 and 13 weeks. If you purchase a 26 week subscription you get one week free, and if you purchase a 52 week subscription you get two weeks free.

What Happens If I Win On One Of My Subscriptions? How Will I Know?

If you win, you'll be automatically notified via email. Winnings less than $600 will be automatically paid out to your online account - giving you immediate access to your winnings. Winnings of $600 or more will be processed through the Lottery claims process. You'll receive an email to notify you how to complete the claim process.

How Do I Subscribe To Illinois Lottery Games?

You can subscribe to Illinois Lottery games through an Illinois Lottery online account. Just select the game you want to subscribe to, pick your numbers, select your options, then determine the length of time for your subscription.

Can I Cancel My Purchase?

No. Ticket purchased through subscription plans cannot be cancelled by a player.  

How Can I Check The Status Of My Subscription?

You can always check the status of your Illinois Lottery subscriptions through your online account. For Pick 3, Pick4 Lucky Day Lotto or pre-set Powerball, Mega Millions, or Lotto subscriptions, just go to "My Account" and select "My Subscriptions." You will find all of the details on your subscriptions. For non pre-sent length Powerball, Mega Millions and Lotto subscriptions, please go to "My Account," and select "My Transactions." If you do not have access to the Internet, you can get the details of your subscription by calling the Player Hotline at 1-800-252-1775.

When Are The Winning Lottery Numbers Picked?

The winning Powerball numbers are drawn Wednesday and Saturday at 9:59 p.m.  The winning Mega Millions numbers are drawn Tuesday and Friday at 9:59 p.m.  The winning Lotto numbers are drawn Monday, Thursday and Saturday at 9:22 p.m. The winning numbers for Pick 3, Pick 4 and Lucky Day Lotto are drawn daily at 12:40 pm and 9:22 pm. Results are posted to www.illinoislottery.com shortly thereafter.

How Can I Purchase A Subscription For Pick 3 And Pick 4?

Purchasing Pick 3 and Pick 4 subscriptions is easy. Start by visit illinoislottery.com and selecting the "Subscribe" button below the Pick 3 and Pick 4 winning numbers. Then, select your play style, pick your numbers, select the amount you'd like to play and the length of your subscription. You can also add plus Fireball. After you've made all of your desired selections, select "Add to Cart." You can then add more tickets, or complete your purchase. You will need an Illinois Lottery online account to subscribe, so you will either need to sign in or register to complete your subscription purchase. What Length Subscriptions Are Available For Pick 3 And Pick 4?

Pick 3 and Pick 4 subscriptions are available for 1 - 13 weeks.

Do I Have The Same Options For My Pick 3 Pick 4 Tickets With Subscriptions That I Have In The Retail Stores?

You have the same options that you have in retail stores including the ability to select your play style, determine the play amount and add plus Fireball. You cannot, however, select a specific draw time (Midday or Evening). For a subscription purchase, you are only able to play your selected numbers for consecutive drawings for the length of your selected subscription. For example, a one week subscription would play the selected numbers in the next 14 draws, 7 midday and 7 evening.

Can I Subscribe On the Mobile App?

Yes, you can subscribe to Pick 3 and Pick 4 via the mobile app, desktop website and mobile website. Learn more about the Illinois Lottery mobile app.

How Do I Buy More Than One Set Of Numbers?

After you have created your ticket and added one set of numbers to your shopping cart, an "Add Another Game" section will appear under your ticket details. Just select the "Subscribe" button under the Pick 3 or Pick 4 logo to add more tickets. Learn more about the online shopping cart and other online play features.

I Purchased A Pick 3 Or Pick 4 Subscription. When Does My Subscription Start?

Your subscription will start with the next available draw.

What Happens When My Subscription Ends?

When the end of your Pick 3, Pick4, Lucky Day Lotto or pre-set Powerball, Mega Millions or Lotto subscription is approaching, you will receive a notification email.

My Subscription Is Over And I Want To Replay My Numbers, How Can I Do That?

If you purchased a Pick 3, Pick4, Lucky Day Lotto or pre-set Powerball, Mega Millions or Lotto subscription and your subscription has already ended, you can easily re-play your original numbers with the same options by copying your subscription. Just login to your Illinois Lottery online account and go to My Account>>My Subscriptions and identify the subscription you wish to replay under the "Expired Subscriptions" tab. Click the "Copy" (stacked squares) icon and the options for that subscription will be visible. You can then add those numbers to your cart as is, or make edits to your subscription details. Your new subscription will start with the next available draw as long as you have completed your purchase prior to 12:35 p.m. for Midday drawings and 9:15 p.m. for Evening drawings.

I Tried To Purchase My Favorite Numbers And I Received A "Sold Out" Message. What Does That Mean??

If you have attempted to purchase a sold out combination, you will receive a message after submitting your purchase indicating the specific days in the subscription that have the number combinations you have selected are sold out. Funding for the entire length of a subscription is taken from your payment source at the time of submission with any sold out dates being refunded to your payment source.

If you would like to play the selected number combination, you will have to return on a later date and attempt the purchase again. Please note, if your number combination is sold out on the last drawing of your subscription this combination may be sold out for a longer period of time than the subscription length you attempted to purchase.

How Does The Shopping Cart Work?

The shopping cart allows you to purchase more than one subscription in a single purchase. Once you've built your subscriptions, just click "Add to Cart" and you can continue to add more subscriptions to your cart.

Can I Delete Items Once I've Added Them To My Shopping Cart?

Yes. Simply, select the "Delete" option and the item will be removed from your cart.

Can I View Everything That I Purchased With One Shopping Cart Purchase?

Purchases are not currently grouped by shopping cart in your transactions history. You can see every purchase in "Game History" and you can see each shopping cart purchase in "Financial History."

After I Made My Purchase, I Got A Notice That Said One Of My Purchases Failed And The Balance Was Refunded To My Account. How Can I Check?

Log-in to your account and go to Financial History. Here you should see a credit to your account in the amount of the failed purchase.

I Put Items In My Shopping Cart, But When I Tried To Check Out My Purchase Was Gone. What Happened?

The shopping cart will time-out after an extended period of time and will be re-set to empty. Once you build your selections, make sure to check out before the time-out window so your selection is not lost.

Is The Shopping Cart Available On Mobile Too?

Yes. You can add items to the shopping cart on mobile as well as desktop.

The Illinois Lottery mobile app is available on iOS (Apple) and Android platforms only.

Who Can Make Illinois Lottery Purchases On The Mobile App?

Anyone 18 years of age and over, who is a resident of Illinois and physically located in the state of Illinois at time of purchase can purchase Illinois Lottery subscriptions on the mobile app. Employees of the Illinois Lottery, members of the Lottery Control Board and employees of certain of their contractors are ineligible to play Illinois Lottery games.

Which Games Can I Purchase On The Mobile App And How Do I Make Purchases On My Mobile Device?

You can purchase subscriptions to Powerball, Mega Millions, Lotto, Lucky Day Lotto, Pick 3 and Pick 4 using the mobile app. You must be connected to the Internet within the state of Illinois. You can connect to the Internet via WiFi or through your mobile carrier (Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile or AT&T). Internet connection through a mobile carrier requires that you follow the steps and opt in for the Mobile Device Geo-Location Service ("Device Geo-Location Service"). Once an Internet connection is established, you can select the 'Subscribe' buttons and begin your purchase. More information about mobile device geo-location can be found in our General FAQ.

What Happens If I Change My Mobile Number Or My Mobile Carrier?

If you either change your mobile phone number or mobile carrier, you can still use the app to check winning numbers and use the retailer locator but you must update this information in your Illinois Lottery online account to be able to continue purchasing Illinois Lottery subscriptions. Log into your account, visit My Account >> Personal Preferences >> Mobile Preferences, update your information and press "Submit." You will get a confirmation message once your update is successful.

Will The Illinois Lottery Mobile App Send Me Texts And Alerts?

If you have opted-in to mobile geo-location, you will receive no more than one text per month for ongoing account verification. The mobile app currently does not have alerts.

How Will I Get Updates For The App?

Any updates to the Illinois Lottery mobile app will be automatically applied to your device.

Are There Costs Associated With Using My Mobile Device?

Message and data rates may apply to the use of your mobile device depending upon the terms of your wireless calling plan.

Do I Need An Account To Subscribe Illinois Lottery Games With The Mobile App?

Yes. You must create an Illinois Lottery account to purchase subscriptions for Illinois Lottery games with the mobile app and you can register through the app.

Do I Need An Account To Check Winning Numbers Or Use The Retail Locator With The Mobile App?

No. You do not need an Illinois Lottery account to access these features.

If I Created An Account Online, Do I Need To Create An Account On The App As Well?

No. You only need one Illinois Lottery account. If you signed up online via your desktop computer or via your mobile phone you will be able to use the same account.

How Do I Choose My Numbers?

You have two options to choose your numbers.

Quick Pick: This option allows you to tap Quick Pick from the Powerball, Mega Millions, Lotto, Lucky Day Lotto, Pick 3 and Pick 4 pages and numbers are randomly selected for you.

Choose Your Own Numbers: Choose your own numbers on the Powerball, Mega Millions, Lotto, Lucky Day Lotto, Pick 3 and Pick 4 screens by tapping on the square underneath Ticket 1. A pop up number grid will appear and a message will instruct you to choose your numbers. Select your numbers by tapping each number on the grid. Once selected, the numbers will change to another color. If playing Powerball or Mega Millions, a second message will instruct you to pick your Powerball or Megaball number.

Is There A Minimum Purchase Amount?

Yes. Minimum purchase amount is $5.

Can I Cancel My Purchase?

No. Tickets purchased through subscription plans cannot be cancelled by a player.  

How Do I Know If I Won?

If you made your purchase via the mobile app and your numbers win, an email will be sent to the email address on file in your Illinois Lottery account to notify you of your win. It is your responsibility to keep your email address on file with your Illinois Lottery account current.

Is There A Risk Of Technical Difficulties While Making Illinois Lottery Purchases On The Mobile App?

From time to time, access to the mobile app may be unavailable, delayed, limited or slowed due to acts of God, interruptions to internet service, maintenance or software failure. Every attempt will be made to minimize these disruptions. The Illinois Lottery and its contractors or agents are not liable for such technical difficulties or service interruptions.

Why Isn't The Illinois Lottery App In The Google Play Store?

At the present time, the Google Play store does not permit lottery apps that allow the purchase of lottery tickets.

Will Installing The Illinois Lottery App Harm My Android Device And Make My Data Vulnerable?

No. The Illinois Lottery mobile app is safe for your device. To ensure device safety, after downloading and installing the Illinois Lottery app on your Android device, return to your phone's security settings and disable downloading from unknown sources.

Can I Download The Illinois Lottery App On Any Android Device?

No. The Illinois Lottery app is only available for Android devices that run Ice Cream Sandwich and Jelly Bean. Devices that run Froyo, Gingerbread or Honeycomb are not supported.

My Android Screens Don't Look Like The Ones Used In The Steps For Download. Can I Still Download The Illinois Lottery App On My Mobile Device?

What Is Mobile Geo-Location?

You must be located in the state of Illinois to make Illinois Lottery purchases on the internet. If you are using a cellular connection, mobile geo-location service allows the Illinois Lottery to verify your location. The Illinois Lottery will not use your cellular connection without your permission therefore in order for the Illinois Lottery to use geo-location, you must first provide permission by opting in to the mobile geo-location service.

How Do I Opt In To Mobile Geo-Location?

Directions for Returning Players

If you are a returning player, log in to your Illinois Lottery online account, visit My Account>> Personal Preferences >> Mobile Preferences and follow the directions on the screen. You will need to provide your mobile number, choose your mobile carrier and reply to the SMS message that will be sent to your phone during the opt-in process. Message and data rates may apply to SMS message. Once you have opted in, you can make Illinois Lottery purchases on your mobile phone without WiFi.

Directions for New Players

If you are a new player, you can set-up your online account after you build your subscription purchase. During the process of creating your account, please follow the steps to opt in to mobile geo-location. You will need to provide your mobile number, choose your mobile carrier and reply to the SMS message that will be sent to your phone during the opt-in process. Message and data rates may apply to SMS message. Once you have opted in, you can complete your purchase on your mobile phone without WiFi.

How Will I Know That My Mobile Opt-In Is Complete?

You will receive a confirmation text on your mobile phone which you must respond to for opt-in completion. After this response, your "Current Mobile Status" will appear as "Opted In."

Are All Mobile Providers Available For Mobile Opt-In?

Currently, mobile opt-in is available for AT&T, T- Mobile, Sprint, Verizon, MetroPCS/T-Mobile, Cricket/AT&T, Virgin Mobile/Sprint and Boost/Sprint..

My Mobile Provider Isn't Listed, Can I Still Make Illinois Lottery Purchases On My Mobile Phone?

Yes! You can still make Illinois Lottery purchases on your mobile phone using a WiFi internet connection.

What Happens If I Change My Mobile Number Or My Mobile Carrier?
